FC Sochaux-Montbéliard: club appeals to the CNOSF in a bid to stay in Ligue 2 BKT

FC Sochaux-Montbéliard have referred their case to the CNOSF in a bid to remain in Ligue 2 BKT, according to concordant sources on 27/07/2023. A conciliation hearing is due to take place in Paris (FRA) on Monday 31/07/2023 or in one of the following days, according to regional daily L'Est Républicain.

The club, 9^th in Ligue 2 BKT at the end of the 2022-23 season, was relegated to National 1 by the DNCG at first instance on 28/06, then on appeal on 11/07/2023.

An offer to buy the club made by Romain Peugeot (great-grandson of Jean-Pierre Peugeot, founder of FC Sochaux-Montbéliard in 1928), with the support of investors and local authorities, was accepted by the Chinese group Nenking, owner of FCSM since 2020, on 26/07/2023.

"The process of reinstating the club in Ligue 2 will still have to pass two essential stages: the appeal (for an opinion) to the French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF), followed by the decision of the executive committee of the French Football Federation (FFF)," emphasised Charles Demouge, president of Pays de Montbéliard Agglomération, on 27/07/2023…
