2015 Women's World Cup: Eurosport acquires TV rights for its European channels

The pan-European pay-TV group Eurosport acquired the broadcasting rights, for the majority of its European channels, to the 2015 Women's World Cup 2015 (Canada, 06/06 to 05/07/2015), on 08/12/2014. Only Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland are excluded from this agreement with FIFA (Federation Internationale de Football Association). Eurosport has broadcast the Women's World Cup since 2003.

The agreement also covers eight other competitions organised by FIFA in 2015 and 2016, the 2015 U-20 World Cup (New Zealand, from 30/05 to 20/06/2015) and the U-17 World Cup (Chile, from 17/10 to 08/11/2015). These TV rights, detailed below, are valid for all European territories where Eurosport broadbasts.

The rights acquired by Eurosport with FIFA are valid for all broadcast platforms (television, Internet and mobile platforms).

Composition of the six groups in the 2015 Women's World Cup (draw held in Ottawa on 06/12/2014):

  • Group A: Canada, China, New Zealand and the Netherlands
  • Group B: Germany, Ivory Coast, Norway and Thailand
  • Group C: Japan, Switzerland, Cameroon and Ecuador
