beIN Sports: new sponsor for Atalanta (Serie A TIM) enables matches to be broadcast in France again

Atalanta BC (Serie A TIM) matches will once again be broadcast on beIN Sports France channels during the 2023-24 season, confirmed the pay-TV group to News Tank Football on 02/08/2023.

beIN had announced, on 20/01/2023, that it would no longer be able to broadcast Atalanta's matches due to the team's main shirt sponsor. Plus500, a broker based in London (GBR), was Atalanta BC's main shirt sponsor for three seasons over the 2020-2023 cycle.

"As of today, we have to stop broadcasting Atalanta BC matches following a decision by the French Directorate General for Competition Policy, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control (DGCCRF), according to which any broadcast featuring one of the team's sponsors would constitute prohibited advertising of risky financial products," explained the pay-TV group.

Plus500 has been replaced by RadiciGroup for the 2023-24 season. The Italian chemicals group based in Bergamo (Lombardy, ITA) has become a pocket sponsor for Atalanta's home shirt and main sponsor for the away shirt for the coming season, 13/07/2023.
