Rugby World Cup France 2023: New Zealand top on social media, France (FFR) occupy 4^th place

With a combined total of 8.75 million followers on its 'All Blacks' accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and TikTok), New Zealand Rugby has the most followers on social media among the 20 teams taking part in the Rugby World Cup 2023 (to be held in France from 08/09 to 28/10/2023), as of 01/08/2023.

New Zealand Rugby, whose men's team are three-time world champions (1987, 2001 and 2015), is in first place on all networks, with the exception of Twitter (now known as 'X'), where England is first with 1.12 million followers.

Overall, the Rugby Football Union (RFU, ENG) is in 2^nd place (4.71 million), well behind New Zealand but ahead of South Africa (3^rd with 3.13 million), France (4^th with 2.95 million), Ireland (5^th with 2.3 million), Wales (6^th with 1.58 million) and Australia (7^th with 1.56 million). These seven federations are the only ones to exceed the average number of followers accumulated by the 20 national teams, at 1.52 million.
