Cycling: "unprecedented" exposure for the 2023 UCI World Championships in Scotland (03-13/08/2023)

The 2023 UCI World Championships, the first to bring together 13 cycling disciplines (the World Championships for Road, Track, BMX, Mountain Bike, Trials, Para-cycling in Road and Track, Indoor Cycling and Gran Fondo), will be held in Glasgow and at several venues in Scotland (United Kingdom) from 03 to 13/08/2023.

The budget for the event is in the region of £50m (€58.2m), funded by the International Cycling Union, the Scottish Government, Glasgow City Council, Glasgow Life, UK Sport, British Cycling and the main local authority partners. "The UCI 2023 World Championships are not only the biggest in cycling history, they are also the biggest sporting event in Scotland's history, even bigger than a Rugby World Cup," said Paul Bush, chairman of the organising committee, on 02/08/2023.

2,600 riders (men, women and para-athletes) from more than 120 countries are taking part in the first edition of these "super" World Championships, organised in this format every four years in the pre-Olympic year.
