Bundesliga: Merck (pharmaceuticals) extends as title sponsor of SV Darmstadt 98's stadium until 2028

Merck, a German chemical and pharmaceutical company headquartered in Darmstadt (GER), has extended as the title sponsor of SV Darmstadt 98's (Bundesliga) stadium, the "Merck-Stadion am Böllenfalltor" (17,000 capacity), for an additional five seasons (2023-2028), announced the club promoted to the German top flight for 2023-24 on 02/08/2023.

This premium partnership (1^st level) also includes the naming rights for SV Darmstadt 98's training centre and the "Merck-Lilien" football boarding school. Merck has been a partner of the club since 2014-15.

15 of the 18 clubs represented in the 2023-24 Bundesliga have a title sponsor for their stadium. The contract between Allianz (insurance) and FC Bayern Munich for the naming rights to the Allianz Arena is the most lucrative (€13m per season) of the 12 deals for which the costs are known. On average, German clubs receive €3.7m from title sponsorship for their stadiums.
