OneFootball: workforce reduced to 250 employees (-15%) after a third wave of layoffs

"OneFootball announces further changes to its organisational structure which will put the company on a sustainable pathway and enable greater stability for the business. As a result, this month the company has reduced its overall headcount by 15% with the result of a more streamlined and operationally fit organisational structure, with a total headcount of approximately 250 people," announced the Germany-based international football media platform on 27/07/2023.

This decision comes after Lucas von Cranach, founder of OneFootball, stepped down as CEO of the platform on 26/06/2023. Patrick Fischer, OneFootball's chief business officer at the time, was promoted to co-CEO alongside Rainer Marquart.

OneFootball had already made 150 redundancies in February 2023. At the time, this represented 32% of the platform's total workforce of 470. OneFootball is said to have taken this decision once again due to the poor financial results of the 'OneFootball Labs' joint venture dedicated to Web3.
