Serie A: direct negotiations for the sale of international TV rights post-2024 without an agency

"As from 2022, the applicable Italian law permits a more dynamic and flexible approach in international media rights sales (amendment of the Melandri law allowing media rights for sporting competitions to be marketed over five years). Therefore, the license agreements (Serie A TIM, Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana) will be finalised through direct negotiations or, whenever appropriate to the market scenario, through requests for proposal that Lega Serie A will issue in due course for specific countries, territories or regions," announced the Lega Serie A on 03/08/2023.

On the same day, the Italian League published a document setting out the general conditions for licensing agreements for the international media rights to the Serie A TIM, the Coppa Italia Frecciarossa and the EA Sports Supercup from the 2024-25 season (available to download).
