Women's World Cup 2023: 2.79 million viewers for Sweden - USA on Fox & Telemundo

Sweden - United States (0-0 after extra time, 5-4 on penalties), Round of 16 of the Women's World Cup 2023, drew an average of 2.79 million viewers on the channels of the television groups Fox (English language) and Telemundo (Spanish language, owned by the American audiovisual group NBCUniversal) in the United States, on Sunday 06/08/2023 (kick-off at 05:00 ET, 02:00 PT), according to data from the American institute Nielsen.

The match drew an average of 2.52 million viewers on Fox channels, while an average of 274,000 watched the match on Telemundo channels.

"The four USA matches matches are projected to average 3,795,000 viewers, up +2% from the Women's World Cup 2019 3,726,000 for comparable 4 matches despite 2 overnight/early morning matches," said Fox Sports.

• The pay and free TV group Fox extended its English-language rights to broadcast the Women's and Men's World Cups until 2026 in the United States, on 12/02/2015.
• The American media and entertainment conglomerate NBCUniversal holds the same Spanish-language rights for its subsidiary Telemundo.
