Italy/CSR: Lega Serie A, the first league to present a sustainability plan developed with UEFA

Lega Serie A has presented its sustainability plan entitled "Calcio Social Responsibility", becoming the first football league to draw up such a strategy as part of the "Football Sustainability Strategy 2030" project undertaken with UEFA since September 2022, the Italian governing body announced on 04/08/2023. The aim of the project is to "define the future of the main sustainability initiatives in European football."

"The document is divided into 20 chapters that symbolise the unity of the 20 Serie A TIM clubs, with the aim of supporting the planned projects, articulated in 11 policies, seven of which focus on human rights and four on environmental protection (modelled on UEFA's "United we stand" strategy)": anti-racism, child and youth protection, equality and inclusion, football for all, health and well-being, support for refugees, solidarity and rights, circular economy, climate protection, sustainability of events and sustainability of infrastructure.
