Having qualified for the quarter-finals of a Women's World Cup for the first time this summer, Spain will face 2019 finalists the Netherlands in the first quarter-final of the Women's World Cup 2023 at Wellington Regional Stadium (Wellington, New Zealand) on Friday 11/08/2023 (kick-off at 13:00 local time, 03:00 CET).

The Real Federacion Espanola de Futbol (RFEF) posted a turnover of €347.8m in 2022, with just over 900,000 licensees, including 67,149 women (7.4%), while the Koninklijke Nederlandse Voetbalbond / Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB) posted a turnover of €119.7m at the end of the 2021-22 financial year, for 1.19 million licensees, including 169,294 women (14.2%). The Spanish national team is equipped by adidas, while the Dutch team is equipped by Nike.

As a result of their national team's qualification for the quarter-finals, the RFEF and KNVB are each guaranteed a minimum of $2.18m (€1.99m as of 09/08/2023), according to the prize money scale presented by FIFA ahead of the competition on 08/06/2023.
