FC Sochaux: club to be sold to local players for a symbolic €1 & appear before the DNCG on 17/08

The Chinese group Nenking, owner of FC Sochaux-Montbéliard, has "concluded an agreement to sell all its shares to a group of local economic players under the banner 'FCSM 2028'," announced the French club on 10/08/2023.

The group of investors, which is said to have bought Nenking's shares for a symbolic €1 according to local press, is led by Jean-Claude Plessis, former president of FC Sochaux-Montbéliard from 1999 to 2008, and Pierre Wantiez, former director of general and sporting administration at FC Sochaux (2000-2008). They were joined by Romain Peugeot, great-grandson of the club's founder Jean-Pierre Peugeot.

A further hearing before the DNCG has been scheduled for Thursday 17/08/2023 (12:15 CET) for the presentation and review of the new investors' budget. If approved, FCSM could see its professional status maintained and be included in the 2023-24 National 1 season.
