France: partnership between Canal+ & DAZN which will offer "Canal+ Ligue 1" a new digital channel

The French pay-TV and free-TV group Canal+ has launched a new OTT channel, "Canal+ Ligue 1", and has entered into a partnership with DAZN, which will offer it on its OTT sports platform, Canal+ announced on 12/08/2023. DAZN has been available on the myCanal platform and on channel 19 (on Canal+ set-top boxes) since the same day.

"DAZN subscribers will thereby enjoy the same Ligue 1 Uber Eats matches as the ones broadcast on Canal+," said the French group, which broadcasts two Ligue 1 games per matchday, on Saturdays at 21:00 and Sundays at 17:05, under a sublicense agreement acquired from beIN Sports France for the 2020-2024 cycle at a cost of €250m per season. This combined subscription (DAZN - Canal+ Ligue 1) is available at €14.99 per month (€9.99 for the first month).
