Asia/AFC: an increase in prize money for the three new club competitions from 2024-25

• The official names of the Asian Football Confederation's three new club competitions (AFC Champions League Elite, AFC Champions League 2 and AFC Challenge League) to be launched from the 2024-25 season have been revealed;
• a significant increase in the prize money for these three competitions;
• the introduction of an AFC Women's Champions League from the 2024-25 season.

These are the main decisions taken on 14/08/2023 by the Asian Football Confederation executive committee "aimed at propelling Asian football to new heights and fostering greater growth and inclusivity."

The overhaul of the AFC's club competitions has been underway since March 2022, when the executive committee decided to set up a task force with the aim of offering a more commercially attractive product.
