Women's World Cup 2023: Spain or England, a new winner to succeed the United States

Spain and England will meet in the final of the Women's World Cup 2023 at Stadium Australia (75,784 capacity) in Sydney (AUS) on Sunday 20/08/2023 (kick-off at 20:00 local time, 12:00 CET).

Having qualified for the final of a Women's World Cup for the first time in their history, La Roja and the Lionesses, the reigning European champions, will be looking to follow in the footsteps of the United States, winners of the 2019 edition in France.

USA are by far the tournament's most successful side, with four final victories to their name (1991, 1999, 2015 and 2019), ahead of Germany, winners on two occasions (2003 and 2007). Two other countries, Japan and Norway, have lifted the trophy once, in 2011 and 1995 respectively.

In terms of the confederations, Sunday's final will enable UEFA to catch up with Concacaf (with four wins), regardless of the winner, who will inevitably be European.
