Real Betis Balompié: project chosen for the renovation of the Estadio Benito Villamarín

Real Betis Balompié (LaLiga EA Sports) has entrusted the renovation of the Estadio Benito Villamarín to the joint bid of Spanish architect Rafael de la-Hoz and American studio Gensler, announced the club on 17/08/2023. The budget is estimated at €70m and work is due to start in the summer of 2024.

The work is expected to take 18 to 20 months and will include:
• a roof over the stands;
• demolishing and rebuilding the Preferencia stand (which will be increased to 15,745 seats, including 11,533 normal seats, 4,023 premium seats and 180 in the presidential box);
• the creation of new car parks and new catering and hospitality areas;
• a modernisation of the exterior façade;
• an increase in the number of PRM (people with reduced mobility) spaces (500);
• a corridor around the first level of the stadium, including a market;
• the creation of a 450-seat auditorium;
• the extension of the club's museum.

The capacity of the stadium, which is owned by the club, is set to remain relatively unchanged at 60,379 (compared with 60,721 at present).
