Women's World Cup 2023: "Millions of people tuning in all over the world" (S. Bareman)

"They told us growing up that women couldn't earn a living from playing our game, but now the lives of 736 players have changed forever, thanks to this FIFA Women's World Cup. They told us that no one would watch but in all hours of the morning and night millions are tuning in all over the world," said Sarai Bareman, chief women's football officer, at the International Federation's second Women's Football Convention held at the International Convention Centre in Sydney (Australia), on 18/08/2023.

Two days ahead of the Spain-England final, won 1-0 by La Roja at Stadium Australia (75,784 capacity) in Sydney (AUS), the New Zealand-born former Samoan player offered an initial assessment of the event, which she believes will be decisive for the future of women's football.
