2023-24 Premier League: attendance for Matchday 2 (42,003 spectators on average per game)

Matchday 2 of the 2023-24 Premier League season drew an average of 42,003 spectators per game, from Friday 18 to Monday 21/08/2023. The average stadium fill rate was 97.4%.

West Ham United FC - Chelsea FC (3-1), on Sunday 20/08/2023 (kick-off at 16:30 local time, 17:30 CET) was the match that posted the best attendance with 62,470 spectators at the London Stadium (62,500 capacity), for a fill rate of nearly 100%. Four other games drew more than 40,000 spectators.

The  average attendance in the Premier League is 39,782 spectators per game after two matchdays, for an average stadium fill rate of 98%.

The Luton Town FC - Burnley FC game on Matchday 2 has been postponed until a later date. Luton Town, promoted to the Premier League for the 2023-24 season, are still carrying out upgrades to their stadium, Kenilworth Road, and should be able to host their first league fixture at home in September 2023.
