The Women's World Cup 2023, which was won by Spain on 20/08/2023, posted record audience figures not only in Australia and New Zealand, the host countries, but also in other countries that had a team competing in the competition, particularly in England (runners-up), Germany (despite being eliminated at the group stage) and, of course, Spain.

Among the key figures recorded during the Women's World Cup 2023:

• In Spain, the final of the competition versus England (1-0) drew an average of 5.599 million viewers on the public TV channel La 1 (RTVE) on Sunday 20/08/2023 (kick-off at 12:00 CET), according to figures from the audience measurement institute Kantar (audience share: 65.7%). This is the best audience for a women's sporting event in the country since the start of 2023, just ahead of the Spain-Sweden semi-final (an average of 1.921 million viewers on La 1 on Tuesday 15/08/2023).

Another record was broken by this final in Spain: that of the most watched FIFA Women's World Cup match (until the Spain-Sweden semi-final, the record dated back to 24/06/2019, when 1.32 million viewers…
