World Rugby: RugbyPass TV (OTT platform) launched to broadcast competitions & content

World Rugby has launched its new free OTT platform RugbyPass TV for the broadcast of international competitions and content, announced the body on 25/08/2023. The international rugby federation had announced the acquisition of the RugbyPass platform from pay-TV operator Sky New Zealand on 09/10/2022.

"The platform will ensure that the 10^th edition of the men's event (Rugby World Cup 2023) in the sport's 200^th anniversary year will be the most widely accessible rugby event ever, providing the destination for live coverage for nations where deals do not exist or where rights-holders are not showing all matches live," said World Rugby.

"RugbyPass TV will blend unparalleled coverage of the world’s top events including the men’s and women’s Rugby World Cups, WXV (women's international rugby union competition) and the HSBC SVNS (men's and women's rugby 7s tours) with exclusive behind the scenes, documentary and feature content produced by World Rugby Studios involving the sport's biggest stars," explained the body.
