This is a world record attendance for a women's sports event and a record for the Memorial Stadium, which usually hosts the Nebraska Cornhuskers (NCAA) American football franchise. The University of Nebraska's sports department had set this goal for itself in February 2023, when announcing the "Nebraska Volleyball Day".
