European Top 5: social media communities of the 96 clubs (September 2023)

• The European Top 5 clubs as a whole added 71.2 million new fans in the last month, taking their total number of followers to 2.47 billion.
• Real Madrid CF (LaLiga EA Sports) is the club with the most followers on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and X (formerly known as Twitter), with 348.8 million, ahead of FC Barcelona (LaLiga EA Sports, 314.2 million) and Manchester United FC (Premier League, 205.1 million).
• The Mancunian club has become the third club to reach the 200 million followers milestone on social media.
• Barça is the club that experienced the biggest increase in followers in August, with 11.2 million new followers.
• Promoted sides Luton Town FC (Premier League) and UD Las Palmas (LaLiga EA Sports) are the European Top 5 clubs that experienced the best percentage growth in followers across the four platforms, with an average increase of +25% and +24.5% respectively.
• Only nine clubs in the Top 5 have a total of more than 100 million followers, including four from the Premier League, two from LaLiga EA Sports, one from Ligue 1 Uber Eats, one from the Bundesliga and one…
