Premier League: €145.6m in commissions paid to player agents in 2013-14 (+19%)

The 20 clubs of the Barclays Premier League paid £115,261,136 (€145,634,884) in commissions to authorised agents from 01/10/2013 to 30/09/2014, the league announced on 28/11/2014. This total amount is up 19.2% compared to the cumulative club expenditures to agents in over the same time period in 2012-13 (£96,673,089; €122,124,858).

The amounts published include payments made by clubs on behalf of players, and encompass two transfer windows (the January 2014 window and the Summer 2014 window). Chelsea FC, for the second reporting period in a row, lead the league by paying £16,771,328 (€21,194,893) to agents in the last two transfer windows. Conversely, Burnley FC, promoted to the Premier League in 2014-15, paid the least amount to agents (£711,024; €898,536) in the same time period, and was the only top division club below the €1m mark.
