UEFA-ECA MoU: European Leagues welcomes the increase in solidarity payments to clubs

"European Leagues welcomes UEFA’s announcement to increase solidarity payments for non-participating clubs during the upcoming 2024-2027 UEFA club competitions cycle," said the association of European professional football leagues on 06/09/2023.

UEFA and the European Club Association announced, on the same day, the signing of a renewed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that extends their cooperation until 2030 and "will elevate their partnership to bolster long-term stability and sustainable growth in European club football." This new agreement notably amends the revenue distribution model for clubs over the 2024-2027 cycle, as part of the change in European Cup format (from eight 4-team groups to a 36-club competition).
