France / Ligue 1: TV rights to be marketed over a 5-year cycle, i.e. until 2029 (press)

The Ligue de Football Professionnel is expected to market the broadcasting rights, in France, to Ligue 1 Uber Eats over a five-year period instead of four for the cycle starting in 2024-25 (i.e. until 2029), according to the French daily L'Équipe on 07/09/2023.

The decision to extend the cycle duration was reportedly approved by the French Competition Authority and then by the Conseil d'État, according to L'Équipe. The LFP will be able to implement this change after the decree has been signed by the Ministry of Sports and published in the French Official Journal.

The call for tenders for the Ligue 1 Uber Eats broadcasting rights from the 2024-25 season will be launched by the Ligue de Football Professionnel on 12/09/2023 and is expected to include only two lots: a "premium" lot, which will reportedly include three key fixtures on each matchday, while the second one is set to include the other six games, according to the French daily L'Équipe on 06/09/2023.
