John Textor (USA, CEO of Olympique Lyonnais) "withdrew from the European Club Association's election process and was not unsuccessful in the vote, despite what has been said, so that Michele Kang (USA) could be elected. By withdrawing his candidacy, John allowed Michele to run for another seat, which means that there are now four French club representatives on the board, whereas if John had remained a candidate, there would have been a maximum of three," said Vincent Ponsot, general manager of Olympique Lyonnais, to News Tank, on 07/09/2023.

Michele Kang, owner of the Washington Spirit (NWSL) via YMK Holdings and a minority shareholder in Eagle Football (owner of OL Groupe), has been elected to the ECA's executive board as one of two new representatives for women's football for the 2024-2027 cycle, representing Olympique Lyonnais' women's team (D1 Arkema). Two other French club heads - Pablo Longoria (ESP, Olympique de Marseille) and Juan Sartori (URU, AS Monaco FC) - have also joined the executive board of the body chaired by Nasser Al-Khelaïfi (QAT), president of Paris…
