Rugby: Canterbury extends as equipment supplier of the IRFU for 4 seasons (2024-2028)

Canterbury, a UK-based brand of New Zealand origin, has extended its contract as equipment supplier to the Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) Rugby XV and Sevens teams (senior and U20) for an additional four seasons (2024-2028), announced the IRFU on 07/09/2023.

The extension is valued at a total of £10m (€11.7m), or £2.5m (€2.9m) per season, according to the British media. Canterbury has been supplying the IRFU's national teams since 2014-15, having previously been the Irish team's equipment supplier for the 2000-2009 cycle (replaced by Puma for the 2009-2014 cycle).

On this occasion, the IRFU also renewed its partnership with Intersport Elverys, a network of 46 retail shops in Ireland, which continues to be the official distributor of IRFU shirts in Ireland and the UK, as well as the exclusive operator of the IRFU online shop, until 2027-28.
