Tennis/US Open 2023: the first Grand Slam to welcome more than 950,000 spectators in 3 weeks

957,387 spectators attended the 2023 edition of the US Open Grand Slam tournament, "a record" (+7.8% compared to 888,044 spectators in 2022), according to the USTA on 10/09/2023. The tournament took place at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center (New York, USA) from 22/08 to 10/09/2023.

This is the first time that a Grand Slam tournament has exceeded the 950,000 spectator mark. 799,402 spectators attended the two weeks of the main draw (28/08 to 10/09/2023), up 3% on the 776,120 spectators who attended in 2022. The qualifying week, known as US Open Fan Week (from 22 to 27/08/2023), saw a 41% increase in attendance, exceeding 150,000 spectators (111,924 spectators in 2022).

Among the figures announced:
• The first week of the main draw (28/08 to 03/09/2023) drew 502,385 spectators, exceeding the 500,000 mark for the first time.
• The 25 matches at Arthur Ashe Stadium, the 23,771-seat centre court, were sold out for the second year running.
