FIBA: Ganten (water), Molten (basketballs) & Smart (telecoms) extend their global partnerships

Ganten, a Chinese mineral water brand, and Smart Communications (or Smart), a telecommunications service based in the Philippines, have extended their roles as global partners (1^st level) of FIBA until the 2027 World Cup played in Qatar, announced the body on 08 and 11/09/2023.

Ganten, a FIBA partner since 2018, will continue to enjoy exclusivity in the "water" category for all FIBA competitions. During the 2023 Basketball World Cup in the Philippines, Japan and Indonesia, Ganten supplied "more than 270,000 litres of water".

Smart is aiming to extend its partnership beyond its national perimeter. The group will benefit from "exclusive rights in the areas of digital and live streaming", as well as being a presentation partner for the FIBA rankings.

Molten, a Japanese company specialised in sports equipment, also extended its global partnership with FIBA, which began in 1982, until the 2031 World Cup (not yet awarded) on 09/09/2023. This is the longest partnership still in force with the world governing body. Molten will continue to supply the official balls for FIBA competitions.
