United Kingdom: ITV acquires broadcasting rights to England matches over the 2024-2028 cycle

The British free-to-air television group ITV has acquired the exclusive full UK broadcasting rights to the England men's national team matches over the 2024-2028 cycle, on 18/09/2023.

The agreement includes all matches played by the national team outside the World Cup and Euro finals, i.e. qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup and Euro 2028, as well as Nations League matches and friendlies. "In total at least 40 matches - approximately ten each season - will be shown by ITV," said the group.

The British public TV channel Channel 4 currently holds the exclusive live broadcasting rights in the United Kingdom for the England national team until 2024. These rights include a total of 20 England national team matches, broadcast between 2022 and 2024: England's 2022 Nations League matches, Euro 2024 qualifiers and international friendlies.

For the 2018-2022 cycle, the British pay-TV operator Sky held the exclusive UK broadcasting rights to all Nations League matches, including those involving England. The ITV group held the rights to England's qualifiers for Euro 2020 and the 2022 World Cup.
