France/Piracy: a court order to block the illegal broadcasting of Ligue 1 & Ligue 2 in 2023-24

"In an order issued on 19/09/2023, the president of the Paris Judicial Court ordered French internet service providers to block access to live streaming sites and major IPTV services broadcasting the Ligue 1 Uber Eats and Ligue 2 BKT championships without authorisation," announced the Ligue de Football Professionnel on 22/09/2023.

"This decision will enable the LFP to effectively protect the rights for the 2023-24 season by applying to Arcom to update the blocking measures ordered by the judge. In addition to the sites and services identified in the order, the LFP will thus be able to block any pirate website or service illegally broadcasting the Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 championships throughout the season," explained the League.
