Liverpool FC: AXA (insurance) title sponsor of the women's team's new training centre in Melwood

AXA, a French insurance company, has extended its partnership with Liverpool FC (Premier League) and obtained the naming rights to the women's team's (Barclays Women's Super League) new training centre, announced the club on 22/09/2023. As part of the agreement, the site will be known as the AXA Melwood Training Centre.

The Merseyside club formalised the acquisition of its former training centre in Melwood (Liverpool, ENG) on 08/06/2023, having sold it to property developer Torus in 2019. The stadium has been home to Liverpool's players and its women's academy since September 2023, and "will be used to support player rehab, host team meetings and press conferences, and provide office space for support staff and management," explained Liverpool.

AXA has been a partner of the club since 2018-19 and has also been its training kit sponsor since the 2019-20 season. The insurance company has also held the naming rights to its training centre, the "AXA Training Centre", since its inauguration in 2020. The annual fee for all of these rights is estimated at £20m (€23m).
