Valenciennes FC: Yoann Godin to leave the LFP to become CEO of the club in November 2023

"Valenciennes FC (Ligue 2 BKT) is delighted to announce the appointment of Yoann Godin as the club's new chief executive officer. Godin will join the club in November from the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) where he is the director of partnerships and global network. He previously held senior commercial positions within the sports industry with SportFive and Lagardere Sports," said the club on 21/09/2023.

"Godin will oversee all aspects of the club's strategy and operations, working closely with Sport Republic, and will also be appointed to the board of directors of Valenciennes FC," added the French club.

Sport Republic, a UK-based Danish investment fund owned by Serbian businessman Dragan Solak, describes itself as a "London-based investment firm in the sports and entertainment industry." The fund has bought out the majority shareholders of Valenciennes FC, thereby becoming the club's owner, according to VAFC on 25/07/2023.
