CAF: Morocco to host the Africa Cup of Nations in 2025, Tanzania, Uganda & Kenya hosts in 2027

"Morocco will host the 35^th edition of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations 2025," announced the CAF executive committee at its meeting at the organisation's headquarters in Cairo (Egypt) on 27/09/2023. This is only the second time that Morocco will have hosted the event, 37 years after the 1988 edition.

CAF withdrew the hosting of the 2025 tournament from Guinea on 30/09/2022 "due to the infrastructure and facilities in Guinea not being ready to host a world class AFCON competition."

Morocco is the first African country to have reached the semi-finals of the FIFA World Cup, in Qatar in 2022 (eliminated 2-0 by France on 14/12/2022).

"Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya have officially been confirmed as the hosts of the 2027 TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations," announced Patrice Motsepe, president of the African Confederation, the same day.

"The biggest event on African soil returns to East Africa after 51 years since it was last hosted by Ethiopia in 1976. This will be the 36^th edition of the competition and will be the very first time it is hosted by three countries," explained…
