Liverpool FC: Dynasty Equity (USA) acquires a minority stake estimated at over $100m

US investment fund Dynasty Equity has acquired a minority stake in Liverpool FC (Premier League) from owner Fenway Sports Group, announced the club on 28/09/2023.

The deal is valued at between $100m and $200m (or between €95m and €189m as at 28/09/2023) according to several British media reports. Based on the valuation of Liverpool FC as published by the American media outlet Forbes on 08/09/2023, at $5.288bn (€5bn), Dynasty Equity's acquisition corresponds to a stake of between 1.9% and 3.8% in the club.

The amount received by the American owner on this occasion "will primarily be used to pay down bank debt incurred during the Covid-19 pandemic and capital expenses made to enhance Anfield, build the AXA Training Centre, repurchase Melwood training ground and, most recently, acquisitions during the summer transfer window. Longer term, the partnership between Dynasty and FSG will also explore further growth opportunities for Liverpool FC," explained the club.
