BT TV, the TV offers from the British telecom group BT (British Telecom), can now offer the pay-TV channels Sky Sports 1 and 2 of its rival Sky plc on the latest generation of BT's YouView box, as of 16/12/2014. So far, BT TV could offer Sky Sports 1 and 2 on its Vision+ box, launched in 2006 and which will be phased out, said BT on 16/12/2014.

The new offering from BT TV follows the decision of the British CAT (Competition Appeal Tribunal) on 05/11/2014, which shall take provisional measures to force the British pay-TV group BSkyB (now Sky plc as of 13/11/2014) to allow distrubutuion of the Sky Sports 1 and 2 channels on the YouView platform of its competitor BT.

  • BT TV subscribers who have a YouView box can now subscribe to Sky Sports 1 and 2 for £22 (€27.7) per month for the two channels, or £16.5 (€20.8) for only one of the two, in addition to their current subscription to BT TV.
  • “This is a pivotal moment for our ambitions in TV," said Delia Bushell, managing director of BT TV and BT Sport on 16/12/2014.
