Rugby: TF1 acquires full broadcasting rights to the Women's World Cup 2025

The free-TV group TF1 has acquired, from World Rugby, the exclusive rights to broadcast the entire Women's Rugby World Cup 2025 in France, announced the French group on 05/10/2023.

The competition, which will take place in England from 22/08 to 27/09/2025, will be the first to feature 16 teams. From 2023, the free-TV group will also be broadcasting matches involving the French national team in the WXV, the new women's competition launched by World Rugby. France will face New Zealand on 21/10, Australia on 28/10 and Canada on 04/11/2023.

The TF1 group had previously broadcast the Women's Rugby World Cup 2021 (played in 2022), held in New Zealand from 08/10 to 12/11/2022 and won by the host country. TF1 acquired the rights to broadcast the Rugby World Cup 2023 and the Women's World Cup 2021 in France from World Rugby on 03/09/2021. According to Rugbyrama, the deal is worth €85m.
