Think Sport 2023: "Great news that France is creating a women's pro league" (S. Sauvage, OL Groupe)

"We can see that women's football leagues abroad have implemented strategies that seem to be producing results. So it's great news that France is creating a women's professional league," said Sophie Sauvage, head of international women's football at OL Groupe, on 03/10/2023.

Sophie Sauvage spoke during Think Sport 2023, an event organised by News Tank at the Maison du Handball (Créteil, FRA), in a segment devoted to "international trends", which also included interviews with Claude Revel, president of the GIE France Sport Expertise, and the American Thayer Lavielle, executive vice-president of talent marketing and operations at The Collective, part of the Wasserman agency.

The FFF federal assembly adopted on 10/06/2023 the provisions (composition, powers, operation) relating to the creation of a women's professional football league instituted by the executive committee on 13/04/2023 "in order to promote the development of women's football at a high level". This new body is due to come into existence on 01/07/2024.
