1. FC Köln: a turnover of €172.2m (+16%) & a net profit of €12.4m in 2022-23

1. FC Köln (Bundesliga) posted a record turnover (including transfers) of €172.2m at the end of the 2022-23 financial year, up 16% on 2021-22 (€148.4m), according to the German club, which presented its (unaudited) accounts on 27/09/2023. Köln also posted a net profit of €12.4m, compared with a net loss of €15.7m in 2021-22.

"The numbers have seen the positive influence of transfer profits as well as the revenue from the UEFA Europa Conference League (notably the bonus of €2.94m for qualifying for the group stage). A reduce in the costs of the first-team men’s squad also made a contribution to the result," explained 1. FC Köln.

The club also reduced its net debt by 23.3%, from €65.9m on 30/06/2022 to €50.5m on 30/06/2023. The 1. Fußball-Club Köln 01/07 e.V. association, meanwhile, posted a net profit of €251,000, compared with a net loss of €928,000 in 2021-22.

• 1. FC Köln finished 11^th in the Bundesliga in 2022-23, with 42 points (10 wins, 12 draws and 12 losses).
