TotalEnergies AFCON 2023: Puma becomes a technical partner of CAF & official ball supplier

German equipment manufacturer Puma has become a "technical partner" of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) with effect from 01/11/2023, announced the body on 09/10/2023.

Puma has the status of official sponsor, the second level in CAF's sponsorship hierarchy. As part of the agreement, the German brand "will supply the official match ball at CAF tournaments, as well as provide the kit for referees and engage in several marketing opportunities, both inside and outside the stadium for several CAF Events including the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Ivory Coast 2023 (from 13/01 to 11/02/2024)," according to CAF, which recently appointed the IMG agency as commercial agent for all its competitions until 2025, on 05/10/2023.

Puma succeeds British equipment manufacturer Umbro, which supplied the balls as well as the referees' and volunteers' kits for the 2019 and 2021 editions of the Africa Cup of Nations.
