USA/NBA: Netflix among potential candidates to acquire domestic media rights from 2025-26 (press)

The streaming platform Netflix is said to be among the potential candidates for the NBA's domestic media rights from the 2025-26 season, according to US financial news channel CNBC on 06/10/2023.

The American media and entertainment conglomerate NBCUniversal, the American e-commerce group Amazon, the American electronics group Apple and the American technology services company Google (owner of YouTube) are also among the potential interested parties, according to CNBC.

Discussions between these companies and the National Basketball Association are at a "preliminary" stage, as the North American league will not be able to officially negotiate with these stakeholders until April 2024, when exclusive negotiations with the current broadcasters (The Walt Disney Company and Warner Bros. Discovery, see below) come to an end, according to CNBC.
