Mediapro: Southwind (Orient Hontai) could sell its shares (80%) in the Spanish group (press)

Southwind, a subsidiary of Chinese investment fund Orient Hontai Capital, is considering selling its 80% stake in the Spanish broadcasting group Mediapro, according to Reuters on 10/10/2023.

Mediapro had announced a refinancing of its debt, then estimated at "more than €900m", through a €620m capital increase fully subscribed by majority shareholder Southwind "with immediate effect" on 08/06/2022. Southwind's stake in Mediapro was then increased from 53.5% to 80%.

Mediapro's current shareholding structure is as follows:
- Southwind: 80%
- WPP (British advertising group): 10%
- Jaume Roures: 5%
- Tatxo Benet: 5%
