France: LFP records €716.3m in turnover (+0.4%) and €1m net profit (+10%) in 2013-14

The General Assembly of the LFP (French Professional Football League) approved the league's accounts for the 2013-14 financial year (from 01/07/2013 at 30/06/2014), in Paris (FRA) on 18/12/2014. The turnover of the LFP was €716.3m, an increase of 0.4% over 2012-13 (€713.2m).

"This is the second year of the audiovisual contracts signed for four years (2012-2016 cycle) with Canal+, beIN Sports France, Orange and Eurosport for the domestic (in France) TV rights, and the contract signed for six years (2012-2018) with Al Jazeera for the international TV rights to the French league," stated the LFP.

In terms of operating expenses, the revenues distributed to the clubs was €616.5m (€612m + €4.5m in non-recurring charges), against €608.8m in 2012-13, or an increase of 1.3% over 12 months. The LFP recorded a net profit of €1m on 30/06/2014, a stable amount year on year (+€ 0.9m on 30/06/2013).

  • The amount for the Buffet tax (5% of the revenues from audiovisual rights go to the CNDS (Centre National for the Development of Sport) to support amateur sport in France was €34.3m.
