FAF/FIFA: Palestine national team home games to be provisionally hosted in Algeria

"The Algerian Football Federation, in compliance with the directives of the country's high authorities and following the request made by the president of the Palestinian Football Association, Jibril Rajoub, has decided to host all the official and unofficial matches in Algeria as part of the preparation of the Palestinian football team for the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup and the 2027 Asian Cup, and to cover all the costs associated with these events," declared the FAF on 15/10/2023.

This announcement came eight days after the terrorist attack carried out by the Hamas movement in Israel, which left more than 1,300 people dead on the Israeli side, and whose response by the Hebrew State has left more than 2,200 dead in Gaza, as of 16/10/2023.

"In this context, the first match to be played in Algeria will be the Palestine - Australia game, part of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, on 21/11/2023," said the Algerian Football Federation. The stadium that will host the match has not yet been determined as of 16/10/2023.
