France/Ligue 1 TV rights 2024-2029: direct negotiations to begin after unsuccessful call for tenders

The call for tenders for the domestic audiovisual rights to the Ligue 1 Uber Eats over the 2024-2029 cycle, launched on 12/09/2023, was declared unsuccessful by the Ligue de Football Professionnel on Tuesday 17/10/2023. As a result, from 18/10/2023, the LFP will enter into direct negotiations with broadcasters, whether or not they have submitted a bid.

The LFP received qualitative bids from interested broadcasters on Monday 16/10/2023, presenting their "commitments in terms of operation, editorial treatment, communication, promotion and the fight against piracy".

The bidding prices for the first two Ligue 1 lots - namely the live matches - were respectively set at €530m (Lot 1, including the two top fixtures) and €270m (Lot 2, including six exclusive matches) per year, for a total of €825m per year including the three magazine (TV programme) lots.
