LFP: preparations for the matchdays dedicated to the fight against racism & homophobia "underway"

"Following the articles devoted to the removal of the rainbow number on the occasion of the next matchday dedicated to the fight against homophobia, the Ligue de Football Professionnel would like to make it clear that work is currently underway to prepare the matchdays dedicated to the fight against racism in March 2024, and then to the fight against homophobia in May 2024," announced the body on 16/10/2023.

The body reacts to information relayed by several French media on 10/15/2023, according to which the wearing of the rainbow jersey, symbol of the LGBT+ community, by all players of Ligue 1 Uber Eats and Ligue 2 BKT, should not be renewed as part of the “Homo or straight, we all wear the same jersey” campaign, the LFP’s annual action to combat homophobia. The body neither denies nor confirms this information, while specifying that "a meeting is planned for mid-November with the partner associations to prepare these two meetings."
