France/Ligue 1 TV rights 2024-2029: unsuccessful call for tenders, direct negotiations to begin

"After receiving several qualitative offers and financial guarantee arrangements for all lots 1 to 5 (for the domestic audiovisual rights to Ligue 1 Uber Eats over the 2024-2029 cycle), LFP Media states that none of the five lots has been awarded today, in accordance with the provisions of the Ligue 1 call for tenders. As a result, LFP Media is continuing its process of marketing Ligue 1 rights and is also postponing its Ligue 2 BKT call for tenders," announced the Ligue de Football Professionnel on 17/10/2023. As a consequence of the unsuccessful nature of this call for tenders, the LFP will enter into direct discussions with broadcasters, whether or not they have submitted a bid today.

The auction to award the five lots for the domestic media rights to the Ligue 1 Uber Eats over the 2024-2029 cycle was held at the Paris offices of international business law firm Clifford Chance on the morning of Tuesday 17/10/2023 (from 10:00 CET).
