France/Ligue 1 TV rights 2024-2029: beIN & DAZN candidates, no qualitative offer from Amazon (press)

Pay-TV group beIN SPORTS France and the OTT sports platform DAZN have submitted qualitative bids for the domestic audiovisual rights to Ligue 1 Uber Eats for the 2024-2029 cycle, as reported by RMC Sport on 17/10/2023. beIN is said to have positioned itself for all five lots in the call for tenders (full list of lots below), while DAZN is said to have expressed an interest in Lots 1 and 2 (live matches). However, the two companies did not make financial bids in line with the minimum price set by the LFP, so the auction scheduled for the morning of Tuesday 17/10/2023 did not take place.

The American e-commerce group Amazon did not even submit a qualitative bid, but is expected to take part in the direct negotiations with the French league, according to RMC Sport. Media and entertainment conglomerate Warner Bros. Discovery (owner of Eurosport) has not submitted a qualitative bid either.
