Warner Bros. Discovery: platform "Max" to be launched in France & Belgium by summer 2024

Warner Bros. Discovery, parent company of the Eurosport pay-TV group, will launch its new "Max" streaming platform (a merger between the HBO Max and Discovery+ platforms) by summer 2024 in France and Belgium, announced Gerhard Zeiler, international president of the media and entertainment conglomerate, and Leah Hooper, senior vice president and the group's head of streaming in the EMEA zone, at Mipcom (the international market for audiovisual content and co-production) held in Cannes (Alpes-Maritimes, FRA) on 16/10/2023.

The platform will first be launched in a number of European markets in spring 2024, including Spain, Portugal and the Netherlands. Max will broadcast some of the live sporting events for which Eurosport holds the rights, such as the Grand Slam tennis tournaments, the cycling Grand Tours (including the Tour de France), as well as the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, according to Leah Hooper.
