Premier League: domestic TV rights tender (2025-2029 cycle) with 270 matches per season

The Premier League has launched two calls for tenders for the domestic audiovisual rights to the English league over the 2025-2029 cycle, on 18/10/2023. These TV rights will now be marketed over four years (compared with three previously), with the number of matches broadcast increasing from 200 at present to 270 (+35%). The process should be concluded before the end of 2023, according to the BCC.

The first call for tenders is for the rights to broadcast 270 live matches per season (divided into five lots comprising between 42 and 65 matches, with no bidder being able to acquire more than four lots), while the second is for the rights to broadcast, free-to-air, highlights of the 380 league matches each season. The Premier League will retain the current Saturday (12:30 and 17:30pm), Sunday (14:00 and 16:30 GMT) and Monday (or Friday, 20:00 GMT) time slots.
